The Advisor, Data Scientist for Dell-EMC?s Enterprise Analytics Group is responsible for enabling Dell-EMC Sales organization with data-driven insights on customer opportunity. Dell-EMC's Enterprise Analytics Group supports global sales analytics, identifies under-penetrated opportunity, supports high propensity account targeting and develops our operations for optimal go-to-market alignment. Experience working with business-to-business account opportunity modeling and propensity modeling will be a required component of the job as well as working hand-in-hand with the business stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

Enable analytical-driven approach to supporting sales strategy and analytics initiatives.

Provide risk-based assessments and propensity models for market and customer.

Consult with senior management and executives on critical go-to-market initiatives, leverage data-driven insights to support key initiatives

Incorporate competitive intelligence and operational intelligence to model and improve opportunity estimates that will influence account planning and field resources assignment

Explore new data visualization techniques to increase insight and visibility to data trends and market opportunity

Interpret results of analyses, identifies trends and issues, and recommends alternatives to support business objectives.

Employ the full data science process on special projects: serve as a data science consultant, frame/unpack the business problem, develop/test hypotheses, collect and manipulate data, and propose/test best-in-class data science techniques as possible solutions.

Requirements

Required Skills:

Strong analytical problem solving capabilities with demonstrated success in consultation, statistics, and computer science

Data analysis skills with external 3rd partner sources such as Dun & Bradstreet or alternative customer hierarchy expertise

Knowledge with sales and/or marketing database operations for a business to business Fortune 500 company

Creative thinker who is success-driven both individually and as a team leader

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ? ability to explain complex topics in easy to understand ways

Self-learner who is driven to learn new methods and techniques to fulfill business needs.


Required Experience:

Knowledge of Corporate Hierarchies, Vertical Definitions and Account Segmentation

Experience working in a B2B Sales Strategy & Planning, Marketing Database Operations or Market Intelligence function.

Individuals should have experience with data modeling practices in the area of opportunity and propensity estimation as well as optimization

Experience with database and statistical analysis, data mining

Database query skills a must (SQL, Python a plus)Experience working with Tableau, SAS, R, SPSS or comparable analytical applications (certifications a plus)


Education:

BA/BS preferably in a quantitative discipline (finance, economics, math, engineering).

M.S. or MBA preferred.
