The R&D Analytics Team within the Janssen R&D Project Management Office is looking for an outstanding individual interested in designing, developing and deploying advanced analytics solutions to support our project management office delivery. Join our skilled team of visualization and data experts to help us mine project and portfolio management data for insights that will transform the way we deliver products to patients.

The Analyst, Statistical Modeling & Data Science will support the Janssen R&D PMO by applying advanced analytical techniques to address complex business challenges within the pharmaceutical project management space. You will create data mining and statistical modeling solutions to support the business needs. You will apply appropriate techniques to design, develop, refine, and deploy new business solutions, e.g. exploratory data analysis, applying data mining algorithms and machine learning techniques as appropriate.


In This Exciting Role You Will Also

  • Partner with more senior team members in order to interpret new insights from predictive models, develop and articulate strategic recommendations and communicate implications to the business.
  • Collaborate with other functional teams to access data elements, understand the data being analyzed, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide support for data analytics experiments that support the projects, portfolio, and capacity management areas of the PMO.
  • Develop a summary of results for presentation of the procedures to his/her clients in the business terms they understand


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required in quantitative, scientific or business disciplines
  • A minimum 2 years experience (professional or academic) with data mining programming languages and modeling packages such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Alteryx is also required
  • A minimum of 1 year experience designing and executing data analysis is required
  • Working knowledge of data mining algorithms including machine learning techniques such as decision trees, deep learning and neural networks, probability networks, association rules, clustering, regression is required
  • Experience with Natural language processing or text analytics methods is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Excellent partnering skills to foster collaboration across organizational boundaries is required
  • Action-oriented, inquisitive self-starter with an ability to learn quickly and challenge the status-quo is also required
  • Able to support cross-functional teams required
  • Able to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines is also required
