Overview

Data Analyst, a member of Dolby’s Intellectual Property Protection (“IPP”) team will be responsible for broad scale data analysis, ad hoc analyses on special projects, identifying new opportunities for revenue recoveries and exploring new systems to create efficiencies.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA – Dolby’s headquarters office

 

Responsibilities

Data Reporting and Analysis

  • Track Audit Package requests of the IPP team, and pulling the relevant data from the systems
  • Communicate progress to stakeholders while always balancing the demands of other stakeholders
  • Ensure data integrity in support of targeting, pre-inspection analytics and data enrichment.
  • Work within the IPP process that promotes efficient data collection and analysis
  • Analyze large sets of data, summarize and provide a concise and meaningful descriptions
  • Work closely with the worldwide IPP team, and Dolby’s other business teams, on additional data analyses as requested/needed
  • Collaborate with others to improve data quality, management of master data, data integration and information model improvements
  • Work proactively and closely with the WW IPP team to understand what data analysis and observations are helpful
  • Participate on project teams to develop logical and physical data models and integration design for new solutions or enhancements/upgrades to existing applications

Requirements

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate IPP team and external auditors on how to understand our complex dataset, and utilize it in our efforts
  • With the direction of the IPP Data Strategy Director take a strategic approach on data analysis projects, and ensure that efficient methods are being used to maintain priorities for all incoming requests to the team
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills
  • Effective in building highly collaborative relationships with other internal and external teams to obtain feedback in how our dataset and work product can be improved
  • Problem solving and analytical skills

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of forensic or business data analytics with a focus on royalty audit experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Knowledge of analysis software (i.e. SPSS, SAS) helpful, especially SAP Business Intelligence/SQL/Access
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other analytical applications
  • Experience in technology or licensing industries a plus
  • Independent thinker with strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Previous experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with ability to influence peers as needed.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in managing data reporting, consolidation and analysis
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Ability to handle complex cross functional issues and work with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
