Job Summary

May lead the design and development of processes and systems to analyze high volume, diverse "big data" sources using advanced mathematical, statistical, querying, and reporting methods. Fully understands and interprets predictive analytics techniques and inductive statistical analysis to predict outcomes and behaviors. Interacts with business partners to identify questions for data analysis and experiments. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to business partners. May be considered an expert in current and emerging technologies to create machine intelligence models. The successful candidate must stay current to the state of the art by reading, understanding, and applying the ideas, techniques, algorithms, and results expressed in recently-published articles and papers.

Sprint Finance, Managerial Reporting & Analytics (MR&A) is seeking a senior business analyst to support ‘people analytics’ at Sprint. The analyst’s focus will be evaluating operational and financial implications of human capital and workforce investment decisions.

As part of these responsibilities, he/she must be able manipulate, analyze and report data in ways that ‘tell internal clients an effective story,’ in a consultative role.

Candidates should have demonstrated past experience and advanced knowledge in decision analysis, statistics, operations and/or economic research involving: working with clients to identify/structure decision problems and decision trees; descriptive and predictive analysis and; prescriptive analysis using text analysis and other methods.

Using these tools, the analyst will analyze organizational, HR, operational and financial performance to identify root causes and improvement initiatives.

Candidates must possess strong data visualization and presentation skills, and will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation; and generating, managing and delivering presentation and management reports capable of yielding insights and actionable results.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school’;
  • Three years’ experience in the research and/or development of analytical decision support solutions;
  • Three years’ reporting and data analysis experience;
  • Two years’ experience leading processes and teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research and/or Business;
  • Two years’ experience performing data analysis and problem solving, using SAS, R or other analytic software;
  • Two years' experience with business modeling and forecasting;
  • One year of relevant courses or experience in Statistical Analysis, Operations Research, or Process Analysis;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • Three years experience working with R, Java, Python, SAS, SPSS or other predictive modeling tools
  • Three years experience in advanced math and statistics


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Math, Statistics or related field
  • Three years experience working with Hadoop, a NoSQL Database or other big data infrastructure
  • Three years experience actively engaged in data science or some other research-oriented activity
