WB Games San Francisco seeks an Analytics Manager to join our growing Mobile Publishing team.

The Analytics Manager will work with business intelligence, analytics and publishing professionals to determine the best systems for managing an internal data warehouse that supports state-of-the-art analytics; the Analytics Manager must have an affinity for data and analytics that support key business decisions.

The Analytics Manager will work closely with the Mobile games team, Central Product Managers, and other internal groups to evaluate how our customers are playing our games and inform improvements we can make to drive sustained engagement and monetization. Specifically, the Game Data Analyst will be extremely detail oriented, with a strong product orientation and an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving both product-level and business decisions.

The successful candidate thrives at delivering solutions to complex data problems preferably in gaming, and has proven themselves effective at navigating and overcoming both internal and external challenges. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Game Data Analytics, this role is crucial to attaining Warner Bros. aggressive goals in mobile games.

  • Own instrumentation of analytics, tracking hooks, and taxonomy during development phase; establish best practices for repeated application.
  • Manage 3rd party tool integration, manage analytics/integration projects across multiple team.
  • Own collection and analysis of game data.
  • Generate actionable reports and recommendations on features that will improve retention, monetization and acquisition of gamers.
  • Identify pain points and work with product management, design and product development to implement strategies to address key problem areas.
  • Suggest and analyze the effectiveness of A/B tests.
  • Establish game data/data science foundation for our studios, work closely with platform team, game team, and third-party vendors to establish best practices.
  • Share insights with executive leadership and game teams regularly.
  • Create cogent reports that are simultaneously data-rich and easily digested.
  • Document analysis/code/scripts

Requirements

What do we require from you?

  • MA/MS Degree in Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data and analytics-intensive role. Mobile, social or online games experience a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with iOS, Android, or Facebook games marketplaces, design trends and analytics best practices.
  • Experience writing queries and using software tools to put together reports and analysis to drive key business decision-making.
  • Experience with using R or Python for statistical analysis.
  • Ability to promote analytics across the organization and lead teams to using analytics insights to drive decisions.
  • Proven ability to conceive and test hypotheses based on inconclusive or incomplete data from unstructured data and creating structures that lend themselves to analysis.
  • Strong analytical background with a focus on consumer behavior in digital entertainment/games.
  • Comfortable presenting complicated material to diverse audiences; strong ‘soft skills’.
  • Strong PC Skills, including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proven SQL skills – Must be experienced writing queries across complex database structures. Distributed querying experience (Hive/Pig/Presto) a huge plus!
  • Experience with using Tableau or Looker.
  • 2 years of experience with using R or Python for statistical analysis.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across different disciplines and locations to achieve results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and prioritize work to meet specific deadlines required.
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Flexibility to travel to Warner Bros. studios as required.
  • Attendance at industry conferences as required.
