Our People Analytics Team. As the People Data Scientist - Principal, you will work with the and team lead and other Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Data Scientists responsible for strategic analytics initiatives, research and experimentation. You will solve essential business challenges such as: Improving collaboration across the organization; Predicting which employees are at risk of leaving the organization before they leave; Predicting which of our 1,000,000 + applicant each year would make great hires and many other; Through data allowing employees to plan and navigate their future careers at PayPal; Identifying what characteristics make a great sales person, engineer, etc.; and, Any many other key questions we will leverage data to solve. Reporting to the Head of Global People Analytics, you will be directly engage with PayPal People Strategy, Analytics and Technology Team to solve scope complex human and data questions, analyze, model, test, and build solutions that provide insights and recommendations.

 

We'll Trust You To

  • Deliver answers to people analytics questions derived from business and HR executives
  • Determine relevant approach for diagnostic and predictive analytics, including data requirements, trade-offs in analytical methods, and interpretation of results
  • Use platforms, programming and systems to establish single-source data that is utilized, across business lines and functions for positive change and insight
  • Develop and lead data-driven/evidence-based research that addresses critical HR issues providing management support to the HR function in the areas of people metrics, reporting, and advanced and predictive analytics
  • Provide compelling data visualizations that convey complex data analysis into meaningful and accessible insights and recommendations
  • Work with our People Technologies, IT and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams to structure and integrate internal and external data to expand the data universe and publish analysis in a controlled environment

Requirements

You need to have

  • An advanced Degree in I/O psychology, statistics, computer science or a related field
  • Experience working with a wide variety of analytical methods and datasets, including both structured and unstructured data
  • Deep knowledge of and expertise in advanced statistics and the ability to visualize insights
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of data science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience presenting to project work team and other leadership teams as needed
  • Track record of translating data and analytics into results
  • Ability to establish relationships, collaborate and influence others

     

We'd love to see

  • Experience in Human Capital domain
  • Experience in top tier consulting firm
  • Knowledge of IBM SPSS Statistics, IBM Modeler, Tableau
  • Understanding of the external people analytics landscape and trends
  • Design and Human Judgment / UI experience.
