We’re seeking a Sr Analyst, Business Analytics and Data Science based in our San Jose, Costa Rica office. The Analytics team’s mission is to empower our business leaders to become more data driven. We develop a deep understanding of the key metrics for our business and build common business intelligence platforms for internal data consumption. We also work closely with product teams to track and analyze how customers use our Website and Mobile applications. And we build models and scripts to discover patterns in the data and communicate these results to the broader management and product teams to drive better decisions.

  • Be the champion for driving data science, modeling and analytics in a highly energized environment and put recommendations for business improvement in action
  • Refine and analyze data from a variety of sources to derive actionable insights
  • Develop and script the right Big Data solutions for varied analytics needs
  • Partner with business leaders to help identify areas of opportunities in the business through data analytics
  • Generating business performance metrics and the right framework to track and improve the same for leadership
  • Partnering closely with various business leaders to articulate analytics needs and identify opportunities to drive business growth through data modelling
  • Dive deep into the massive usage data and identify patterns, categorize usage types
  • Run experiments to test product optimization and new data analytics methods and transform the results into actionable business recommendations
  • Developing scripts and using Big Data tools like Hive

Requirements

What You Will Need To Succeed

  • B2 English level as a minimum
  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or another quantitative discipline
  • Proficiency in advanced excel
  • Proficiency in executing analysis using Big Data tools like Hive / Hadoop and statistical like R
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey complex information in a polished, clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Out of box thinking and creative problem solving bringing strategic business insights
  • Enjoy diving deep into the numbers to find an answer to a yet unknown question
  • Highly analytical, a true self- starter, and extremely data-driven

     

What Will Make You Stand Out 

  • Professional experience in Multivariate Regression, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees, Lifetime Analysis, and Clustering (a plus)
