Sr. Analyst, Data Policies Management & Operations - Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Sr. Analyst, Data Policies Management & Operations for the Financial Contract Reporting & Administration's (FCRA's) Data Policies & Management department. This person is responsible for (a) Executing the Division’s Month-End Close cycle; (b) identifying process and system improvements for the month-end close; (c) testing Sylvester system enhancements; and (d) communicating with Corporate Accounting, Business Units and WB Technology relating to month-end close activities and projects.


What part will you play?

  • Coordinate the FCRA Data Month-End Close cycle, including communicating with various stakeholders involved in the close (e.g., Sylvester Support, SAP Support, AIRS Support, EFS, Turner, TV Productions and other Business Units). Identifying and escalating close-related issues. This role also includes executing close activities such as interface validations, manual upload validations and processing, BU balance confirmations and data staging. In addition, the role includes the preparation of procedures related to the Month-End Close process, as well as required month-end close documentation for cross training purposes.
  • Innovate to further automate the Month End Close process. Identify, initiate and document improvements to controls, procedures, policies and system enhancements to the Sylvester system. Implement the change through planning, preparing and executing all user acceptance testing activities (writing test plans, user requirements, use cases, test scripts; and executing test scripts, identifying and documenting defects).
  • Perform data analytics and analysis to further improve the data management within DPM. This includes Trend Analysis, Exception Reporting and BU reconciliation efforts as well as detailed data research and data clean-up activities. Determine the approaches to be used and complete the analysis to determine the outcome of the research or data cleanup activities.
  • Cross Train on SOX testing and coordination to understand all the processes within FCRA ensuring that the controls are implemented and understood within the division.


What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a major in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years’ work experience in an accounting, finance or IT environment required.
  • Data analysis or data management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with system implementations and user acceptance testing (UAT) is strongly preferred.
  • Entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required.
  • SAP, SQL, SharePoint, MS Projects, MS Access and Visio experience is a plus.
