Enterprise Core Services Group

Enterprise Core Services (ECS) was recently formed to be one of the foundational horizontal organizations within Wells Fargo Technology in addition to Enterprise Platform Services and Enterprise Architecture. Customer Enablement and Business Automation Team (CEBAT)

The ECS Customer Enablement and Business Automation Team (CEBAT) is responsible for providing foundational and strategic customer enablement and business automation services and capabilities to technology, business and operations teams across Wells Fargo, integrating seamlessly with the firm’s strategic data and analytics ecosystem.

Artificial Intelligence Technology

Artificial Intelligence Technology Team in partnership with the Artificial Intelligence Enterprise Solutions (AIES) Business enables the Enterprise to leverage the full capabilities of Artificial Intelligence to deliver insightful and personalized experiences for customers and team members, drive greater operational efficiency, while reducing risk and expenses and driving revenue. The focus is to develop and implement a foundational AI strategy for the Enterprise. Provide products and services to customer and business use case needs to be met, allowing our users to optimize how work is done through the leveraging of Artificial Intelligence capabilities. AI Technology plays a critical role in enabling our business partners through innovative technology solutions. The Team organizational model is designed to more effectively manage our portfolio of applications, govern enterprise IT, manage risk, simplify our technology offerings, and execute on our business partners’ priorities with enhanced time to market.

The Role

The Artificial Intelligence Enterprise Solutions (AIES) group was formed in early 2017 with the mandate to enable the enterprise to leverage the full capabilities of Artificial Technology (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Leaning (ML) technology for delivering insightful and personalized experiences for customers and team members, driving innovation, greater operational efficiency, and better managing risk. The AI Technology team is creating a unified enterprise Machine Learning (ML) Platform that will enable an end to end solution for other business lines to build and deploy their AI/ML models and is responsible for supporting Data Science activities across the enterprise. The AI Technology Team primary challenge is to get the Platform to a mature state and operationalized at an industrial scale for the firm in compliance with all relevant corporate technology, data and model operations policies and processes.

Job Description

The AI Technology Model Operations Team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced senior technology professional with software development, engineering and operations expertise in a AI/machine learning framework. The role will require the candidate to be a lead developer for models on AI Technology Machine Learning Platform and ensure the Model meets functional and non-functional requirements, model scoring execution perfoms as expected and model performance consistently meets or exceeds the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements established.


  • AI model operations and engineering technology leadership
  • Establishing and leading a comprehensive Model Operations Development program, which includes model performance testing, model performance operational monitoring, model performance metrics collection and creating model performance dashboards and reporting for business and technology stakeholders
  • Installing and configuration of the machine learning tools
  • Coordinating with Hadoop team to install necessary software for machine learning
  • Post production support of the ML Platform
  • Support of REST API services
  • Working collaboratively with business and technical leaders, sponsors, and analysts on problem understanding, requirements and architecture discovery, analyze complex business requirements, data analysis and modeling, designs and writes functional and technical specifications
  • Exhibit high degree of flexibility to changing requirements

  • Ensuring timely and effective communications to key stakeholders
  • Proactively designing and implementing new operational and support practices, processes and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • 3 + years of experience supporting or designing high priority enterprise technology solutions

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A Master's degree or higher in information technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) disciplines such as Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing
  • Experience with design, implementation and governance with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning Architecture
  • Experience Hadoop ecosystem tools relevant for real-time and batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning using tools such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Hive or Apache Storm
  • Design and development experience with columnar databases using Parquet or ORC file formats on Hadoop
  • 2+ years of Hadoop experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Java or Python NLP machine learning frameworks such DL4J or ND4J
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Distributed Computing, Chatbot, and Virtual Assistant
  • 2+ years of Apache Spark design and development experience using Scala, Java, Python or Data Frames with Resilient Distributed Datasets (RDDs)
  • Experience with Spark, Hive and Kafka
  • SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies used in waterfall or Agile development projects
  • 5+ years of Linux experience
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
  • Ability to interact with a diverse team
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
