As a Business Analyst, you'll utilize data and analytical techniques to define success metrics for Youtube trust and safety operations, measure business performance and communicate convincing narrative to top executives and outside world. You will work with key business partners to understand data needs, write extract, transform and loads (ETL) scripts and collaborate closely with other internal teams. With your analytical expertise, you will help deliver on YouTube’s mission to give everyone a voice, show them the world and build a community. Your role will be critical to YouTube by enabling efficient, high quality, and precise operations to protect our global platform and users.

  • Develop, build and measure performance on operational metrics (productivity, service level agreement, quality, cost, efficiency, timeliness) and generate insights to improve the efficiency of our operations.
  • Understand user impact of policies, become an expert in what moves the key metrics and conduct detailed analyses that result in actionable insights to enhance user experience on the platform.
  • Run ongoing and ad-hoc analyses in support of site-wide Trust and Safety objectives as well as operational effectiveness and incident response.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Legal, PR and Product Management teams to craft convincing narrative to key policy makers, execs, governments etc. based on methodical and data-driven approach.
  • Partner with Data science, strategy teams to prioritize and execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that deliver actionable insights.


Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, a similar quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
    • 2 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, business intelligence, data science, or corporate strategy.
    • Experience with data analysis, modeling, SQL and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in an analytically-intensive role, building and analyzing business cases.
  • Experience with delivering production level metrics, insights and actions.
  • Experience in project management and process optimization with data analytics.
  • Experience in extracting, sampling and visualization of large data sets.
  • Experience writing and maintaining ETLs which operate on a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
  • Familiar with abuse prevention, policy and regulatory systems.
