Data Analytics Engineer - Philips

Reedsville, Pennsylvania

In this role, you have the opportunity to: Build and optimize big data systems and work closely with our systems architects, analysts, and relevant Production personnel to identify, analyze, and produce data analytics solutions that advance production efficiency and improve overall business group productivity and financials.

You Are Responsible To

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions
  • Initiate and participate in projects in the area of prediction, optimization, and processes using advanced data extraction and analysis approaches, in the enterprise environment
  • Work closely with other data and analytics team members to optimize the company’s data systems and data reporting architectures
  • Design and build the infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading of data from a variety of sources using technology such as SQL, AWS, and other programming tools
  • Design best architecture and select the most appropriate modeling techniques and data visualization for big data analysis
  • Create, validate, and document data analysis and reporting solutions per regulatory and internal guidelines and policies.
  • Build data and analytics tools that will offer deeper insight into ultrasound production, allowing for critical discoveries surrounding key performance indicators and customer activity
  • Serve as a local solutions expert by applying consultative problem-solving skills.
  • Remain current on competitive trends in the healthcare industry to anticipate and identify new business challenges and issues regarding the collection and analysis of big data.
  • Always seek improvement, greater efficiency, and reporting across existing data systems.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor (or Graduate) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent quantitative field and 5+ years of experience in a similar Data Engineer role.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience working with and extracting data from large, disconnected and/or unstructured datasets
  • Experience with the following tools and technologies:
    • Relational SQL databases
    • ODBC data access
    • T-SQL query language
    • Data reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects and Qlik Sense
    • Object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python, Java, C++, Visual C#, etc.
  • Knowledge of various Regulatory (FDA and ISO) Software validation and data reporting regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to project manage and work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend vendors for project solutions
  • Written and verbal communication, preferably with technical writing skills
