Equifax is looking for a curious and motivated entry level Data Scientist to join our DataX analytics team! Data Scientists combine technical skills, teamwork, communication, business logic, and software knowledge to extract meaningful information from the company’s data structures to advance the business. In this exciting role, your will have the opportunity to get exposure and work in all areas of data and analytics.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Blend mathematics, statistics, and computer science skills in order to work with data and analyze it
  • Work within a team environment that encourages gathering and sharing of technical and business insights
  • Exhibit communication skills that deliver complex areas of knowledge and data insight to decision makers
  • Develop technology tools that provide real time analytical results for monitoring key business metrics.
  • Analyze data within the specific processes and of the organization so that all results have appropriate business context
  • Perform extensive data mining and consumer behavior modeling utilizing programming languages such as SAS and SQL.
  • Must have proficiency working with structured and unstructured data across large database tables.



  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science and Engineering or Bachelor's degree in any quantitative-based science with 1-3 years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Database software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
  • Experience with SAS, SQL and other statistical software packages
