Data Scientist - Customer Success Strategy and Operations 

The HubSpot Customer Success Strategy and Operations (CSSO) team is looking for a Data Scientist to join our rapidly growing team. Primary responsibilities will focus on driving enhancements to business operations through the use of advanced modeling, data manipulation, and toolset creation. This position will look to drive productivity and scale across all of Customer Success with a focus on removing friction for our internal team and our customers.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

  • Generate recommendations for process improvements and predictive models based on the collection, analysis and modeling of large, complex data sets
  • Work closely with members of Business Intelligence, Product and Engineering teams, and Operations teams across HubSpot including strong partnership with team members in Customer Success Strategy and Operations.
  • Use HubSpot’s vast product data to proactively inform Customer Success strategy and operations
  • Perform business analytics supporting initiatives that drive KPI performance, optimize customer experience and enhance our human-less interaction with end users
  • Drive efficiency gains across CS functions (Account Management, On-boarding, Support), giving our frontline reps the tools they need to support the growth of our customers
  • Identify areas of friction within our technology stack, our processes and our customer interactions, developing innovative solutions
  • Apply your knowledge of statistics, data modeling and machine learning, combined with exploratory data analysis to accelerate progress on current and future initiatives
  • Partner closely with a team of data driven professionals

Requirements

We Are Looking For People Who

  • Have at least 3+ years experience applying advanced analytical techniques, applied statistics and machine learning to drive more efficient business processes (Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, etc)
  • Have strong coding skills, experience with programming languages and tools (Python, R, etc) and advanced SQL skills; Data visualization tools are also a plus (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Are educated in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Have experience working with large data sets, strong desire to investigate data from a variety of sources (SQL and other non-conventional sources)
  • Are experienced with principles such as Clustering, Decision Tree, Regressions, A/B Testing and Data Cleansing
  • Are able to identify the right data, analysis, or approach to translate complex business problems into insights and actionable recommendations
  • Have the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; manage time, multiple tasks, and deadlines effectively
  • Have proficient communication and interpersonal skills; can convey complex analyses to a broad audience
