In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work with a growing team of data analytics and scientists within the I&D organization for Philips Aging & Caregiving team. Developing innovative ways to extract new meaningful and actionable insights from a combination of multiple data sources including PaaS and SaaS based platform. Besides data scientists and data engineers you will also work with business analysts, scrum team members, finance, marketing and customer service teams within the organization. Philips Aging & Caregiving (ACG) is building a suite of clinical and consumer solutions that will improve the quality and tenure of independent living for seniors in partnership with their caregivers. We challenge you to make a difference through innovation in advanced data analytics in the area of healthcare solutions and services for seniors.

You are responsible for

  • Analyze and articulate business opportunities into clear, use cases and stories to inform the data pipeline, models, services, deployment workflow, KPI’s and visualization.
  • Contribute in partnership w/ the architect towards the design of the infrastructure and tooling in this ACG PaaS environment
  • Contribute in partnership w/ research towards the design and development of algorithmic models that deliver differentiated commercial value
  • Contribute in partnership w/ analysts and UX design a self-service dashboard that serves various stakeholders
  • Contribute new data led innovation in partnership w/ product and research towards disruptive commercial value
  • Contribute strong consumer centric (configurable) security and privacy policies in partnership w/ compliance and regulatory functions
  • Contribute as a coach and evangelist w/in ACG towards the platform led continuum of descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive and predictive analytics
  • Contribute in identifying and continuously improving data quality in partnership w/ operational functions
  • Contribute in defining graph models for business segments in partnership w/ product management

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree required (technical discipline, data science, computer science or information systems preferred).
  • 3+ year’s work experience working with data
  • Proficiency in statistical programming language, like R or Python, and a database querying language like SQL along with general programming languages such as C, Java
  • Familiar with statistical tests, distributions, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
  • Data visualization skills using preferably programmatic tools, SPSS, Spotfire, Tableau etc.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, regression, kmeans, decision trees etc.
  • Knowledge of data mining, text mining, its concepts, techniques and implementation.
  • Break down analytic silos both on premise and in the cloud.
  • Self-service access to scale/power of Hadoop resources like Spark and HDFS.
  • Familiar with the construct of data models and data attributes within those models.
  • Familiar with APIs, Web services, RESTful and SOAP
