About Sales Operations

The Business Intelligence team is part of the larger Acquisitions department. The Business Intelligence teams’ mission is to support the acceleration of decision making, optimize business processes and increase operational efficiencies.

About The Job

The Data Scientist is responsible to build forecasting and predictive models and algorithms for the acquisition department.

What does a Data Scientist do?

  • Lead the creation of algorithms that can effectively identify key accounts and assortment in the pipeline; model and predict acquisition funnel by source; etc.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
  • Assist in building learning systems that react to changes in business needs and market trends using machine learning and statistical techniques
  • Identify opportunities for improving algorithms and processes from the perspectives of accuracy, stability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement and deploy scalable solutions
  • Apply advanced algorithms to large ecommerce data sets
  • Collaborate with various business teams including Growth & Acceleration, Business Development, Category Management, and Trust & Safety to determine project goals, optimize processes and scalability.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.


What are the eligibility requirements to apply?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Engineering or related field with 3-4 years of experience OR Masters of Science with 2 year of data science experience
  • Proficient with SQL (experience in Hive and Terradata utilities preferred)
  • Proficient with multiple analytics tools required; Python or R strongly preferred
  • Experience with predictive and statistical modeling, computational algorithms
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau preferred)
  • Ability to explain/present complicated and/or advanced analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and organized with ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects
  • Exceptional follow through and process management skills
  • Flexibility and comfort in a fast-paced, ambiguous, always changing environment required
  • Outstanding work ethic – proactive, helpful, and driven
  • Team player & Strong interpersonal skills
