What part will you play?

The Manager of Business Intelligence will be embedded within the Global Insights & Analytics (GIA) team with a dotted line reporting to the Global Audience Insights team. Key responsibility is to support the Global Insights & Analytics team under the guidance of the Director of Business Intelligence in support of business partners around the Studio. The right candidate will identify and build business intelligence solutions to drive business growth and revenue for multiple WB studio business partners: including Digital Network Businesses (Ellen & TMZ), TV Programming & Distribution & Licensing, Consumer Products, Global Brands & Experiences, Animation Production & Strategy, Tours, Franchises & IPs and Ad Sales.

This role requires a strong knowledge of BI solutions, data analytics, data management and normalization, data modeling & visualization tools. This position will be responsible for unlocking, designing and implementing data solutions for GIA colleagues and clients, utilizing data, data science and tech solutions to drive insights and ultimately value for the WB enterprise.

Working closely with the Director, Business Intelligence, the Manager will:

  • Work closely with GIA team, and GAI team, data engineers and DBA groups creating technical requirements, database design and solutions
  • Gather business requirements, interact with users and developers based on reporting needs
  • Leverage knowledge of data modeling methodologies and other data warehousing activities
  • Proficient in creating complex data visualizations, dashboards, stories, smart maps, LOD expressions, etc. using Tableau with diverse data sources
  • Strategize and Ideate before reports/dashboard development process
  • Lead source-to-target mapping efforts and maintain mapping documents
  • Develop user friendly tableau dashboard and empowering users by enabling them to have multiple selection options using parameters, filters and dashboard actions
  • Establish standards and naming conventions and performance tuning of reports
  • Build and maintain SQL scripts and complex queries for data analysis and extraction
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of using data analyses and visualization to impact business decisions
  • Partner with Global Audience Insights team to expand insights and recommendations and collaborate on key initiatives
  • Liaise closely with other AT&T/WarnerMedia & External Big Data divisions and providers, e.g. WB Global Audience Insights team, Xandr, and teams in NY, Dallas and Seattle.
  • Help our business partners embrace data confidently and responsibly to address complex challenges
  • Liaise with the Global Audience Insights team to drive and implement GIA-wide training, knowledge-sharing and best practices related to big data projects, services and providers
  • Manage day to day operations with oversight from the GIA Director Business Intelligence, and input from Global Audience Insights team


What do we require from you?

  • BA/BS degree in Math & Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or Data Science
  • Minimum of 4-7 years in data analysis, profiling, data manipulation, data mining, data extraction, data enrichment
  • Very strong Tableau skills, strong SQL skills
  • Good understanding of Machine Learning
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Analytics and Omniture, Google Analytics, and other Social/App Tracking Tools
  • Have solid / emerging experience with statistical modeling, reporting, analytics, database usage and design theories
  • Proven experience working with stakeholders in gathering requirements and writing technical specifications.
  • Professional experience with visualization tools and report development, dashboard creation, pivot tables, and data analytics. Tableau, Looker or similar tools
  • Excellent understanding of analytical methods and regression models, and advanced analytics software (SAS, R, Python and others)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL/PLSQL/Hive) and expertise leveraging large data sets within a data warehouse (Hadoop, Oracle, MySQL).
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics/Omniture, Google Analytics, and other Social/App Tracking Tools.
