The Marriott International HQ located at 10400 Fernwood Road, Bethesda, MD 20817 is currently hiring a Senior Manager, Data Science Partner - Distribution. 

Responsibilities include: 

Marriott, the world’s largest hotel company, is seeking someone like you to provide top notch analytical support to the organization. You and the team you lead will enable distribution strategy by analyzing customer behavior and designing, measuring and evaluating a variety of promotional approaches across customer lifecycle. You will ensure that Distribution stakeholders will optimize their marketing efforts by developing and communicating insightful and actionable analysis. This role entails outstanding business to technical translation, structured yet creative thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and hands on advanced analytical methods.   This role is part of a highly visible team that is tasked with growth acceleration and reinventing customer experience for Marriott.


Education and Experience

·       Master of Science from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline and

·       4+ years’ analytical experience as a quantitative Data Scientist/Data Analyst or a related role with domain knowledge in customer analytics or

·       4 year degree from an accredited university in quantitative discipline above and 6+ years of relevant professional experience

Technical Skills 

·       Demonstrated analytical ability with ability to synthesize and analyze large volumes of complex information from multiple sources

·       SQL, R, Python, SAS

·       Tableau, R Shiny

·       Git, Jira

·       MS Office including Power Point

·       Omniture or other Web Analytics tools


Management Skills and Discipline Expertise

·       Proven track record of leveraging data and advanced analytical techniques for business decision making

·       Ability to apply analytical methods to creative problem solving

·       Experience applying advanced modeling techniques to model customer behavior

·       Experience analyzing loyalty promotional campaigns

·       Design of Experiment expertise

·       Professional experience with Web Analytics tools is a plus

·       Creative problem solver and relentlessly curious

·       Strong business acumen; shareholder mindset

·       Strong interpersonal skills and story telling ability to technical and non-technical audience.

·       Experience partnering effectively with analytical vendors



·       Provides analytical support for distribution initiatives

·       Collaborates closely with Distribution stakeholders to create and execute learning agendas, develop hypothesis, lead analytical execution, provide results, recommend actions and identify opportunities for further analysis

·       Design and executes experiments to evaluate Distribution Initiatives effectiveness

·       Creates customer predictive models with focus on increased engagement, retention and incremental revenue

·       Hands on experience building customer models to optimize outcomes across different areas of loyalty marketing

·       Leads analytical efforts to optimize effectiveness of Distribution Programs

·       Leads promotional initiatives measurement and analysis by collaborating with stakeholders in designing promotions that meet financial hurdles, measuring effectiveness and providing recommendations for improvement.

·       Applies advanced analytical methods to define strategic KPIs and its drivers to monitor health of customer eco-system

·       Uses modern visualization techniques to present

·       Provide project management support including planning, documentation, defining technical processes, prioritization, scheduling, and communications. 

·       Develop and present analytical recommendations and actionable insights to disseminate findings and successful practices to key stakeholders and senior management. Explain complex analytics to a broad audience with varying levels of technical background and understanding.
