Position Overview
The Software Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the API Service layer of U.S. Soccer’s data and technology infrastructure. This API layer enables performant integrations and orchestrates data between CMS, identity management platform, and other components of our microservice architecture.
 
This position is created to coincide with the launch of a suite of new digital applications that power an enhanced experience for U.S. Soccer fans. The Software Engineer will be part of a team ensuring the new architecture and suite of applications transition smoothly from outside developers to internal operators.
 
Primary Duties
  • Ensure the continuous delivery/deployment of applications within the tech stack
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to facilitate long-term application and systems integration through centralized cloud-based services
  • Establish and operationalize monitoring procedures based upon system up-time requirements for internal and external stakeholders
  • Review new technologies and create best practices in enterprise data architecture and their suitability for the organization’s mission and operations
  • Additional duties as assigned
 
Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, engineering or a similar field
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure application and service management, including dev ops functions
  • Experience with Sitecore or other enterprise-level CMS
  • Expeirence creating and maintaining SQL databases
  • Experience creating and maintaining REST APIs
  • Experience with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, javascript, React, etc.)
  • Experience maintaining shared code bases
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow
  • Full-time position, 40+ hour work week
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required
  • Travel may be required
 
An ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Passion for soccer and a deep understanding of the professional game
  • Knowledge of BI, Analytics, AI, and machine learning
  • Experience creating data pipelines using Apache Spark
  • Graduate degree is a plus
  • Desire to be part of a team
