Products range from entry level and midrange systems to enterprise storage solutions, both hardware based and virtualized. Industry leading products such as PowerMax, PowerVault and Unity, as well as cloud-based solutions such as CloudIQ that provides proactive health, monitoring and predictive analytics for Dell EMC Storage. The Dell EMC Storage division products leverage state of the art open-source technologies and Agile development methodology, with teams across the globe working collaboratively. The primary responsibility of an entry software engineer is to contribute to product development, qualification or support. Role Responsibilities

  • Work with a global engineering team on development, enhancement or support of features and products
  • Take part in the full software development lifecycle including development, test, continuous integration, delivery & support of container based and microservice based products leveraging open source components as well as traditional proprietary designs.
  • Work both independently and with a team to meet key deliverables



  • Strong software development skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Proficient in oral and written technical English
  • Detail oriented, sense of urgency and follow through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
  • Able to quickly learn new concepts and languages


Familiarity or strength in some of the areas below a plus. Different skills applicable to different roles/teams within Dell EMC Storage so not all required.

  • Strong Object-Oriented design principles
  • Experience with at least one scripting language like PERL, Python or bash
  • C, C++, Java, Angular/Typescript
  • Understanding of Spring Framework, AngularJS, Cloud Foundry and HTML5 a plus.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing
  • Knowledge of kernel/embedded systems programming
  • Multi-threaded, locking and memory management concepts
  • Data Analysis, Machine Learning & associated algorithms: e.g. Clustering, Bayesian inference, etc
  • Experience with Microservice architecture, Microservice design and instantiation using Spring Boot
  • Experience with SQL Database (Postgress), NoSQL Database (Cassandra), RabbitMQ, Maven, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry
